Malawi Tourism calls for assistance from Jo’burg with floods

If you follow the news at all, you’ll know that Malawi has suffered the effects of devastating floods in the last few weeks. Over 100 people have been killed and according to BBC news, 200 000 people have been displaced. Crops and farms are underwater, villages have been washed away and unfortunately, continued rains are making it hard for rescue teams to do an effective job.

Malawi Tourism in Johannesburg is calling for assistance from anybody willing to donate items that can be shipped back to the country and aid in rescue and recovery missions and are collecting the following items:

  • Clothing
  • Blankets
  • Canned  food
  • Plastic sheeting
  • Buckets
  • Plastic cutlery

If you are willing and able to drop anything off, Malawi Tourism’s address is as follows:

Malawi Tourism office – Johannesburg

4 Dodge Street

Woodmead

The office can be contacted on 082  801 2015.
