Starting my weekend with a 10km run

Delta Park 10km time

It’s been forever since I woke up on a Saturday and went for a proper run, and by proper I mean further than 5km.

When I started dating P (my boyfriend), we used to get up enthusiastically every weekend and go for a run down towards Delta Park, around the outside edge of the park and then back to the top of Craighall.

We’ve been a little lazy of late, but managed to get in a great run on Saturday morning. I was determined to finish 10km, even though it took me about 15 minutes longer than it should have in the end! But I did it, and felt great afterwards, even if P teased me about almost having to send out a search party because I was taking so much longer than he thought I would.

I love looking over my routes afterwards through Garmin Connect or Discovery Vitality, You can tell from the route map at the bottom of this post that I really could’ve covered more distance inside the park, there are still plenty corners to cover! Also, this route is great because it’s a mix of road and trail running and there are lots of friendly doggies being walked to say hi to.

The park doesn’t look that great at the moment, but there’s a lot of shaded parts on the route and plenty of spaces to stop and take a breather and look around. I can’t wait to take some better photos in Spring. The run on Saturday made me even more motivated to train for a half marathon, I even think I know which one will be my first, but more about that soon!

Have a lovely Tuesday!
