A passion for expensive art
|I’ve never really been into art so much until I moved out of home and felt the need to fill all the empty walls. I recently moved into my new place, and the walls are about as thrilling as having a deep, meaningful conversation with a mole.
So I decided that I wouls start the hunt for stuff to hang on the walls so that I don’t feel like I’m living in a clininc and saw two of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen this weekend gone by.
These two prints (sorry not the greatest picture) are from plate etchings by young artist Lehlogonolo Mashaba, who I sadly can’t find much of a biography for. He’s made it into the ABSA l’Atelier Top 100, and the lovely lady on the phone from The Art Room in Parkhurst said that she thinks it’s his year to win.
They are just ridiculously striking and the detail in the prints is incredible. I’d love them forever if they ended up on my very empty walls.
Anyway, they’re way out of my league (unless I suddenly find a very rich benefactor), but a girl has to dream right?
