Eating skinny at Belle’s Patisserie

I’m not the biggest fan of cake in general. I don’t really love super sweet things and tend to avoid bakeries because I may end up walking out with an entire load of olive bread and several pates. However, when one gets invited to try out an entire menu dedicated to skinny meals and cakes, one simply cannot refuse the offer…

Belle’s Patisserie is the centre of the universe when it comes to red velvet cupcakes, that I’ve known all along, but to discover that they firstly, also do great meals at their Blubird Centre store, and secondly, that they have an entire menu dedicated to low-carb, sugar-free, banting and guilt-free treats, is pretty incredible.

I was lucky enough to try it all (mmm… mmm…) along with some other bloggers, and have to say that the skinny red velvet cupcakes, the cheesecake and the super food salad are my top choices from their skinny menu. The double chocolate vegan cupcakes are very chocolate-y but were a little dry for my liking so I don’t think I’d order those again with so many other great options on the menu.

If you’re looking for something light, there’s a great lemon poppyseed cake that’s fluffy like clouds, and if you want something super decadent you absolutely have to go with the cheesecake!

Now obviously nothing is completely carb-negative other than a celery stick when it comes to food, but these treats really go a far way if you’re making sure to follow a balanced diet and you absolutely have to have something naughty but nice. Knowing that Belle’s makes these now, it’ll also be a lot easier to cater when somebody pops over for tea and they’re gluten-, wheat- or dairy-intolerant. Or fussy.

If you want more detail on where to find Belle’s, or about their treats, visit their website here. The skinny menu is only available at the Blubird and Clearwater branches.

A self-appointed director of happiness amongst my friends and family, I spend my days writing, brainstorming online marketing ideas and figuring out which country is next on the bucket list of places to see.
