JulIf you follow my blog on a semi-regular basis, you would’ve seen the blogger collective #AnimalRightsInTourism campaign that launched on 22 July. South African travel bloggers out their strengths together and aimed to bring about awareness for animals in tourism.
While rhino poaching is in no way linked to what I was saying about animal encounters, our treatment of the magnificent species as human beings has been nothing short of appalling over the past few decades, hunting and poaching them near to extinction.
Enter Rhino Tears, a Mt Vernon wine dedicating a portion of its sales from every bottle to the Unite Against Poaching initiative of the the SANParks Honorary Rangers to be used in anti-poaching projects in SANParks.
Over R367 000 has so far been raised to support anti-poaching efforts and with Rhino Tears now being available online, it’s easier than ever to support the cause. Personally, I’m willing to do whatever it takes to drink as much of this wine as possible in the hopes of fighting for these African unicorns.
The wine is available for purchase on www.rhinotears.co.za for R700 for a full case (12 bottles including delivery), and can be delivered countrywide. As well as online, Rhino Tears wine can be purchased in major retailers around the country, including Pick n Pay, Makro, Tops, Spar, Fruit and Veg City and major independent retailers.
Those supporters who wish not to purchase wine can make a donation via the Rhino Tears SMS donation line. SMS the word Rhino to 38730 and R10 will be collected for the campaign.
