Meet me at ACE/ANIMO VOL II {Wine Event}

If you, like me, are a fan of a good ol’ wine event, then ACE/ANIMO VOL II is where it’s at!

ACE/ANIMO VOL II is a ‘meet the makers’ wine event taking place at the lovely little ACE + PEARL fine Wine Bar in Craighall Park, and it promises to be unlike any you’ve been to before.

I’m not so much a fan of traditional wine events and exhibitions. You know the ones where you have to fight to taste anything decent and you’re surrounded by students that really are just there to get smashed? Ja, not so much my vibe.

But what is my vibe, are the kind of tastings that have a wide range of varietals, packed with personality and almost completely obscure. I love discovering boutique wines and makers that put passion into creating small batch wines that speak for themselves.

I’m also a sucker for a beautiful label.

ACE/ANIMO VOL II, the deets:

Date: 3 June 2017

Time: 3pm – 7pm

Venue: ACE + PEARL, 357 Jan Smuts Avenue, Craighall Park

Tickets: R300 per person – buy them HERE.

Which wines will you be able to sample?

There are 10 different wine producers that will be at ACE/ANIMO VOL II, and you can even meet and chat to the wine makers about their passion varietals, including:

Craven Wines: Mick Craven
Hogan Wines: Jocelyn Wilson
Intellego Wines: Jurgen Gouws
JH Meyer Signature Wines/Mother Rock Wines: Johan Meyer
Joostenberg: Anette Myburgh
Julien Schaal Wines: Julien Schaal

Worried about driving?

The lovelies from ACE + PEARL have arranged an Uber code (ACEANDPEARL) for first-time users of the service. Yay for free rides!

Worried about starving?

ACE/ANIMO VOL II is organised by not only ACE + PEARL, but also Warm & Glad (the eatery downstairs), who will be serving delicious dinner options from 7pm.

See you there?

I haven’t written much on wine in recent months, but you can find all my posts relevant to it here.

A self-appointed director of happiness amongst my friends and family, I spend my days writing, brainstorming online marketing ideas and figuring out which country is next on the bucket list of places to see.

Got something to say?
